An opportunity for more GIS learning

The Bentley Conference, which draws thousands of users, including government officials and decision-makers, is round the corner. The recipe this time includes more than 600 courses, 100 sessions on the best applications of technology, the Bentely Awards and much more. Here is a sneak preview of what the participants can expect from this year’s edition

Bentley Systems, the software major specialising in infrastructure solutions, is all geared up to host its annual conference, which draws over 3,000 users, government officials and others, at Los Angeles Convention Center from April 29 to May 3. Over the years, its annual conferences have achieved 99% satisfaction rating for Bentley Institute training, Bentley technology updates and best-practice sessions. The annual event offers an extraordinary opportunity for professionals and organisations to share and learn better ways to work and achieve optimal performance.

BE Conference 2007 features comprehensive, discipline-specific, training for Bentley users in the building, plant, civil and geospatial verticals of the architecture, engineering, construction and operations markets. During the five-day event, Bentley Institute will provide more than 600 courses representing close to 1500 learning units of training to help attendees stay current on technology and best practices and advance their careers. Besides hours and hours of accredited learning, the conference throws open a variety of networking opportunities as well.

Usually participants come from AE firms, architecture firms, design-build firms, engineering consultants, facility owner-operators, transportation authorities, DOTs, rail companies, local governments, public works, cadastral authorities, plant engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors and plant owner-operators. They include users of Bentley’s MicroStation, ProjectWise, AutoPlant, RAM, STAAD and Haestad methods solutions as well as of ESRI and PDS products.

The conference is immensely useful to organisations and professionals in the sense that it gives a rare opportunity to get training, which usually is spread over months, in just three days and that too at a much lesser cost. The learning units are taught in around 350 feature-rich sessions. In addition, the conference offers more than 100 sessions on the best application of technology from experts, including BE Award nominees. The participants can also get to check out the latest features and enhancements to Bentley products like MicroStation and others and discuss how they can be used to maximise profitability.
